Hermetis - what’s in a name?

BI and Analytics have become indispensable for organizations seeking to make informed decisions and create competitive advantage. However, analytics teams often have trouble providing consistent, valuable insight to their myriad of business partners. At Hermetis, we believe that the challenges faced by data teams are less about tooling and platforms and more about communication and alignment.

In Greek mythology, Hermes is the “Messenger of the Gods”, moving quickly and freely, aided by his winged sandals. Metis is the goddess of wisdom and deep thought, as well as the first wife and advisor to Zeus. The name Hermetis embodies the ideals of communication, speed and knowledge.

At Hermetis, we want to help data teams quickly and effectively communicate wisdom across the organization.

Scott Stark

Scott is the Founder and Managing Partner of Hermetis. His fasciation with data and it’s potential dates back to his undergrad days at Georgia Tech and his experiences in an elective Database Management course.

Scott began his career as an IT and Management Consultant. After earning an MBA and starting a successful management consulting firm, he realized that his passion for data and analytics was where he wanted to focus his career. In 2008 he returned to school and received an MSc in Analytics.

Scott has spent the last 15 years working in and leading data and analytics teams with a focus on leveraging data to improve business performance, along the way building deep knowledge in the domains of strategy, predictive modeling, data engineering and business intelligence.
